Chivalry

Chivalry

Can be lonely
The highest love
puts care above passions

Loyalty
Can bring misery
The highest honor
Puts right above self

Liberty
Has casualties
The highest freedom
Puts peace above life.

Bravery
will bring injury
The strongest man
Is going to cry.

Changes

Flowers bloom

And the changing moon
Nothing stays
But my love for you
Summer breeze
And the swaying trees
Enduring love
Like the rolling seas

If the wind changes
And it turns the pages
Any storm that rages
You can count on me.

Changing plans
And the shifting sand
We’re secure
You just take my hand.

Gardens die
And our eyes will cry
Souls will live
Never say goodby

If the wind changes
And it turns the pages
Any storm that rages
You can count on me.

Inner Man

I know a wild man, who crouches deep within

He’s friends with all my passions, they want to hang with him
The stoic man is always right, demanding I obey
My passions cannot stand him, they can’t come out and play.
I may get drawn to either one
One is safe, the other fun.

Silent Words

I hear you speak

When you’re  away
I hear your voice
When I’m at rest
So I will speak
If you can hear
And cause a stir
Inside your chest
The thoughts arrive
From deep within
A burning fire
Till they’re expressed
So I will speak
What’s in my heart
Form the words
That love professed

My Pen

When no one listens
My pen always will.
My paper always hears
I’m Never judged or rejected
As the void is filled with ink

I become immortal
My thoughts written
Can be seen for centuries
Or tragically stored away
Undiscovered but lasting.

They are out of my head
The pressure is relieved
Stagnation is depression
The old has got to go.
A constant flow brings life

I won’t annoy you with chatter
Or become a talking head
But I can listen and wait
To write what’s in my heart.
It is here I am never ignored.

Far Better

Be careful what you wish for
Some people say
I sure wasn’t ready
When we met that day

My mind could make a dream
But it couldn’t make you
Can make believe love
Really come true?

A heart close to perfect
Sure we have faults
A soul that’s like artwork
hidden in a vault.

Could I imagine better?
Can’t stretch that far
On the way from heaven
I caught a shooting star.

Contrary wind

I tried to sail back

Through contrary winds
As my ship was swept  away
You faded into the horizon

The picture is withered
But my memory is clear
And I’m desperately hoping
That the wind will change

Now I dream about those eyes
And that soft tender voice
I’d sell my soul for one hour
But the wind, it keeps blowing

The flag waving in the breeze
Heart in my throat once again
God give me but a glance
Cure this restless soul.

As I dream….
