Halloween fun

As fall resists the wintery scene.
Ghouls emerge for Halloween.
Tonight its vogue to wear one’s fears.
And costumed creatures appear.

Not doomed to shadows anymore.
Ghosts float up to every door.
Heroes, stars, grotesque undead.
The candy monster will be fed.

Black cats arch, witches fly.
Pass out fruit you’ ll hear them sigh.
An artful crowd in front of homes.
When time is up, the goblins groan.

This old man could have gone.
And danced across his neighbors lawn.
But I’ll open  doors and smile wide.
At emboldened kids and mothers pride
